Although this article makes Loreto out to be a bit more of a ghost town than it actually is, it is true that Loreto is far from being another Cancun or Puerto Vallarta. That is why I love it here. The lack of cruise ships and congestion, combined with the magical setting of the mountains, islands, sea, and historical charm, lead people to praise Loreto as a "magic town" and "a gem."
